Baleh Hydropower Project in Malaysia

Baleh Hydropower Project is located on the Baleh River in Sarawak State. The total installed capacity is 1,285 MW, with annual power generation of about 9.2 billion kWh.

The Project has a concrete face rockfill dam with height of 192 m and length of 1,159 m. The rockfill volume is 25 million m³, and the reservoir capacity is about 29.9 billion m³. The spillway adopts the OGEE weir type with 5 radial gates, and the maximum discharge capacity is 16,500 m³/s. 5 steel penstocks are arranged with diameter of 5.8 m. The Project is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
