The key livelihood project, combining China’s Belt and Road Initiative with Kuwait’s Vision 2035, provides housing solutions for 400,000 local people, covering an area of about 30 km2 and involving the construction of roads and related supporting infrastructure in eight neighborhoods. The total length of roads is about 400 km, with facilities of road, traffic, rainwater harvesting tank, lighting, water supply, rainwater pipeline, wastewater, electricity, communication, etc. YREC undertook the design work, and CGGC undertook the construction. The Project was completed and handed over in March 2021.
