Sudan Gadaref City Water Supply Project takes water from the Upper Atbala Reservoir, with the total water supply capacity designed to be 150,000 tons/day. The Project Phase I is constructed to provide the capacity of 75,000 tons/day, with facilities of 1 water treatment plant, 2 booster pump stations, 1 high-level storage reservoir and 70 km water supply pipelines. The Project will provide high-quality drinking water for Gadaref City, and effectively solve the problems of inadequate safety, guarantee and water quality with the existing water supply system.

YREC is responsible for the preliminary design, construction drawing design and site service.
