Yunnan Gengma Irrigation Scheme involves two parts of water source and irrigation system. The irrigated area is designed to be about 20,500 ha. The main construction works include Wengjie reservoir and main canals, branch canals, pump stations and all other canal structures. The total length of key canal systems is about 160 km. RCC gravity dam is recommended for Wengjie reservoir with maximum dam height of 117m.

Gengma Irrigation Scheme is of great significance for rational allocation of local water resources, and sustainable development of ethnic border areas.
