Pinglu Canal is an important waterway in the water transportation plan of inland Guangxi. The Project starts from Pingtang Jiangkou in Xijin Reservoir area of Hengzhou City, Nanning, and by way of the Qinjiang River, enters Beibu Gulf, with a total length of about 135 km. According to the standard of inland waterway Class I, the canal will be navigable by ships up to 5,000 tons. The main construction contents include waterways, shipping hubs, river-crossing facilities and supporting structures. The Project is developed mainly for navigation, as well as water supply, irrigation, flood control and improving of aquatic environment.
