Ji’nan Jiluo Road Tunnel Project is the largest diameter shield tunnel that has been built in China, and also the largest diameter tunnel combining highway and rail transit in the world. The total length of the route is 4.76 km, among which the shield tunnel, double-tubed, passes under the Yellow River for about 2.5 km long, and the construction was implemented with 15.2 m super-large diameter shield machine. The tube tunnel is divided into two layers. The upper layer is the one-way three-lane passage as urban major artery, and the lower layer is for the urban rail transit.
