Dongzhuang Dam Project is a key water project approved by the State Council. For resettlement options, affected people are fully consulted, and resettlement schemes are integrated with urban planning. Diversified livelihood approaches such as efficient agriculture, forestry, fruit industry and social security are put forward so as to vitalize villages and enrich people. The operation mode of the reservoir is combined with ecological protection, and the measures for ecological scheduling and ecological base flow, and for fish restocking and releasing, and habitat protection are implemented, so as to effectively minimize the impact on fish, downstream wetlands and water environment.

In terms of soil & water conservation, the flood control design for large-scale spoil dump sites during construction period is proposed to ensure the safety and stability. At the same time, the top surface of spoil dump sites is used to accommodate the sand-gravel aggregates processing system thus to reduce the occupation area and realize the land utilization.
