Study of Multi-energy Complementary Bases in Qinghai Yellow River Area

Qinghai Province has huge potential of clean energy and enjoys unique development advantages. Based on hydropower resources in the Qinghai reach of the upper Yellow River, the project proposes three multi-energy complementary bases of clean energy, ranking more than 20 million kilowatts each. Hydropower stations serve as the main energy source, combined with the deploying of wind, PV, pumped-storage hydro and energy-storage pump station to form multi-energy complementary bases. The financial analysis of the three bases is carried out, and the calculated electricity price for end consumers is lower than the benchmark tariff of coal-fired power in some areas, which proves certain market competitiveness.
